Hello CVE Families,

I am excited to continue in my role as the Assistant Principal of Connoquenessing Valley Elementary School (CVE). It is an honor to be a part of this kind, exceptional educational community. I am proud to be a part of a school and district where we ensure that all are welcome.

I have a wonderful opportunity — and a meaningful responsibility — to work with children each day. While technology and artificial intelligence are now integral parts of our world, one thing remains timeless: the importance of helping students think deeply, creatively, and independently. At CVE, children learn to solve problems, connect ideas, and think critically. Our teachers challenge students to think, not just respond.

My twelve years of classroom instruction include teaching pre-kindergarten in North Carolina, kindergarten in Virginia, and third and fourth grades here at Seneca Valley. The professional development series called Changing Education Through the Arts has had a considerable impact on my instructional practices. Through this work, I learned how to teach students what it looks and feels like to truly focus, and I began incorporating movement‑based learning to foster creativity and engagement.

Further, my doctoral research on school climate and Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports (PBIS) paired well with my involvement with PBIS at Rowan Elementary as a teacher, and here at CVE as the assistant principal. These practices shaped the way I approached instruction with elementary students and continue to influence my leadership today.

Outside of school, my husband and I are raising our three children, which gives me daily perspective on the importance of strong communication, shared trust, and true partnership between home and school.

Sincerely,

Dr. P
