hroughout the school year I provide a tiered curriculum to the students of CVE.  Each month students will participate in a counseling classroom lesson.  The lessons are based on Second Step Curriculum.  Second Step is a social-emotional learning tool, and the curriculum aides in instruction by providing pictures, videos, and songs to help students remember and utilize lesson content.

Small group counseling is another service available to all students.  Group content is determined by student needs. Group counseling is designed to help students with specific challenges including, making and keeping friends or calming down strong emotions. Groups may also help students navigate their feelings and emotions while going through a divorce or separation or greiving a loss in their life.

One-on-one sessions can also be provided to students to work on specific skills to help in achieving at his or her best ability.

My goal is to help break down the barriers that may prohibit students from reaching their goals.  I want to encourage all the students of CVE to work through challenges and persevere.  Each CVE student will leave the building with tools and skills to help them succeed as they learn more about the world around them and what they want to achieve in their futures.
